The Class of 2026 has much to celebrate as we honor some of Bishop Diego’s highest student achievements and recognitions. From academic excellence and athletic leadership to service and character, these Cardinals have distinguished themselves in remarkable ways. Join us in celebrating these students and their accomplishments.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday, March 13, 2026, for the Bishop Gala at El Paseo! What a joyful and memorable evening it was! This year’s event at El Paseo offered a wonderful new setting for our community to come together, and the energy in the room reflected exactly what makes Bishop Diego so special.
This collection of alumni stories honors the lives and legacies of James Alan “Bud” Madden ’50 and Dwight Faulding ’79, while celebrating Gene Dueber ’63 and the restoration of a treasured piece of Bishop Diego history.
What a joy it was to work with Bishop's largest senior class in years and witness their tremendous growth and maturity. The truth is, though, the work starts long before senior year. Our college counseling approach is deeply individualized, beginning before students even walk through Bishop's doors. Our counselors and admissions staff stay closely connected to college representatives, so we always know what schools are genuinely looking for, and conversations with students and families are informed by that knowledge.
The 54th Annual Bishop Diego Golf Tournament was a fabulous success as Bishop Diego Alumni, friends, and staff took over Glen Annie Golf Course. Gray skies greeted our players at the start, but if anything, that just meant cooler temperatures and zero sun squinting on the backswing. A little overcast? Please. These golfers were fired up ready to bring the sunshine to their game. The sun broke through and lit up the course in style. One hundred and forty-four golfers showed up ready to make birdies, bogeys, and memories, all in support of Bishop Diego students. We continue to honor the late Jim Stovesand for his faithful commitment to this incredible event.
Ms. Linda Williams retires after 33 years teaching English and drama at Bishop Diego. Her teaching style captured students’ attention by using literature to illuminate life lessons, inviting reflection on character and choices. For over a decade she produced the school’s musicals, combining high expectations with encouragement. She actively participated in senior Kairos retreats, guiding students through faith and community-building experiences. Throughout her career she held high academic and character standards and consistently modeled her Catholic faith. We thank her for her decades of dedicated service and the steady presence she has been for generations of students. She will be greatly missed and her lasting impact on the school will not be forgotten.
Dillan Bennett, Boys Varsity Volleyball Head Coach
I’m still trying to wrap my head around what we just did. Back-to-back, undefeated Tri-Valley League champions. And for the first time in program history, CIF-Southern Section champions.
In late February, the Class of 2026 spent 3 days together listening to one another's stories, conversing in small groups, celebrating and sharing in their faith, and simply enjoying each other's company, all in the beautiful hills of Ojai. The theme of the retreat was "Home". Led by a core team of 10 seniors and 6 faculty, the students reflected on rebuilding and restoring, in God's divine time (the Kairos), their relationships with self, family, classmates, school community and God. As a result of this special retreat, the senior class discovered a newfound love and appreciation for all places they find and call home, especially the home of Bishop Diego High School.
I have been coaching for a long time, and I can tell you honestly — this group of young women gave me one of the most rewarding seasons of my career. When I look back on what we accomplished in 2025–26, I don’t just see a 27–5 record or a CIF-SS Division 5 championship banner. I see a group of players who trusted each other, competed through adversity, and delivered on their potential in the biggest moments. For those of you who followed the Cardinals this winter, thank you. And for those who are just catching up — let me take you through it.
Memories that will last a lifetime, bonds that this team will have whenever they are together and the most enjoyable run to the CIF SS Division 8 championship that I have ever experienced-these are the takeaways I have for the Girls tennis 2025 historic season. The journey was truly remarkable highlighting the strength and spirit of our team.
