How to Apply Online

Applications for the 2024-25 school year and our Personalized Tuition Model are being accepted on a rolling basis, space and funds permitting.

To be considered, please complete the following steps:
 
  1. Review the Admission Criteria listed below this section
  2. Submit an online application & non-refundable application fee.
  3. Schedule an appointment for the Entrance Placement Test (8th graders only) and the Personal Interview via the online application portal or by reaching out to Alexis Garcia at alexisgarcia@bishopdiego.org.
  4. Complete the Permission for Release of Records & Grades Form in the online portal. 
  5. Request letters of recommendation from the applicant's English and math teachers and Principal or Academic Advisor through the online application portal. 
  6. After first trimester or semester grades have been recorded, request transcripts from the appropriate person at the applicant's school.
  7. Complete the Personal Essay (prospective 10th and 11th-grade students only - found within the applicant checklist)
  8. If applying for the Personalized Tuition Model, complete the FACTS application.

Bishop Diego Admission Criteria

Students are admitted to Bishop Diego High School on the basis of their desire to attend Bishop, their academic record, performance on the Entrance Placement Test (for 9th-grade applicants only), recommendations, and the student's willingness to abide by the school’s philosophy, rules, regulations, and standards. Students entering 9th grade must have graduated from 8th grade. Ideally, students are admitted at the beginning of the school year but may be admitted by the end of the 1st and/or 3rd quarters. All admission inquiries are facilitated by the Director of Admissions.

Entrance Requirements:

  • Desire to attend Bishop Diego High School.
  • Review of report cards from two previous years of school and current grades. 2.5 GPA with no "D" or “F” semester grade marks (on a 2.0 = C scale).
  • Satisfactory Citizenship and Work Habits marks (marks of “U” or "N" may preclude an applicant from admission).
  • Satisfactory recommendations from English and math teachers and a principal or academic advisor.
  • Satisfactory school attendance without excessive tardies or absences.
  • Entrance Placement Test (prospective freshmen only)
  • Personal Essay (written during the Entrance Placement Exam for freshmen). Prompt available within the online application for transfer students (grades 10 & 11).
  • Personal Interview with Bishop leadership.

Sophomore/Junior Transfer Students:

In addition to the applicable requirements above, transfer students will be evaluated on their ability to meet BDHS graduation requirements. Senior students are admitted on a rare case by case basis.
